Financial Controller - Numerous Childcare Centres Job Vacancy in Sydney and ACT

Little Learning School is a family owned and operated group of childcare centres located in Sydney and ACT. We provide a safe, nurturing and educational environment for children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to assist with the expansion and growth of our childcare business. This is an extremely fast moving and dynamic industry so only business savvy
candidates need apply.

Overall responsibilities includes but not limited to:
• Day to day management of the financial operations of the group
• Preparation, reconciliation and lodgement of monthly IAS/ quarterly BAS/yearly FBT
• Preparation and lodgement of monthly Payroll Tax
• Administration of payroll and superannuation for employees for the group
• Cash flow, forecasting, budgeting and reporting including recommendations and implementation of any changes for the group
• Preparation and review of monthly budgets for each centre and associated reports for monthly Directors meetings
• Maintenance of company insurance and certificates of currency
• Maintenance of fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Company secretarial and business registrations
• Manage external relationship with accountants, consultants, bankers and suppliers
• Management of annual financial statements and income tax compliance for the group with external accountants
• Keeping abreast of legislative and regulatory changes which effect the day to day running of the core business including the childcare industry, employment standards and tax law
• Working with the Directors on other business matters as required
• Reconciliation and review of debtors and DEEWR payments

The ideal candidate would be a qualified accountant preferably with CA or equivalent, with experience managing the financial function of a medium sized diverse group of businesses with strong technical capabilities. A background in both professional practise and commerce would be an advantage.

You need to be a motivated self starter who grasps business concepts quickly and has attention to detail. Communication and interpersonal skills are essential due to the nature of our business. Strong excel and MYOB experience are essential and childcare industry experience would be preferential but not necessary.
