Senior Chemist
Evolve Scientific Recruitment is staffed by Australia’s leading team of Scientific and Technical recruitment specialists. We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our clients, a leading laboratory services organisation.
We are looking for a Senior Chemist ideally with expertise in Environmental and Water testing techniques.
As a Senior Chemist you will be responsible for:
• Chemical analysis of incoming Environmental Samples
• Reporting of results to the Customer Service team and management
• Training and supervising up to 15 junior members within the laboratory
• Calibrating Lab equipment and Maintaining site calibration register.
• Clean Water Chemistry analysis for pH, Conductivity, Turbidity and Colour level of samples.
• Waste Water Chemistry analysis including Suspended Solids, Biological Oxygen Demand, Chemical Oxygen Demand and Cationic and Anionic surfactants in water.
• Organic Chemistry analysis including using a HPLC for PAH analysis and GC/MS analysis to locate pesticides, petroleum hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons.
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills
• A tertiary qualification in Science or equivalent
• Experience in a similar position within an environmental testing laboratory with superior knowledge of water testing.
• Excellent communication skills is essential for this position
